New Website!

I am in the process of setting up my own website!  I am so excited for this next step!  Stay tuned!!!  :)

New Logo New Start!

I am continuing to work on my portfolio.  I am also expanding my business.  I am excited to spend more time on this fun and rewarding profession.  I look forward to working with my existing and hopefully many new clients!  Right now I am booking 2011 introductory pricing sessions as well and Christmas & Holiday mini-sessions which include custom designed cards.  Contact me for more details!  I look forward to hearing from you!

I have created a new logo and updated the blog design.  Since this is a bit of a new start I wanted to freshen up a bit!  Look for new posts from my expanding portfolio soon too!

A Morning with Becky :)

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of going on a shoot with one of my great friends Becky Jones of Rebecca Jones Photography  She is an amazing photographer!  It was so much fun to hang out and shoot with her.  (Even though it was a cold March Michigan day!)  Here are some that I took that day.  It was fun to play around shooting and with the editing too.  Thanks for looking!  And thanks so much to Becky for letting me tag along!!  :)

Joy of Love - Maybe Later...

The Joy of Love ~ Day 9 ~ Their Passions & Hobbies

Day 9 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "Their Passions and Hobbies". I could go crazy with this topic but I decided to capture this point in time with the kiddos.  And right now this captures what they enjoy the most right at this exact time.  The 3 year old love cars, trucks and trains and the 16 month old in really into reading books(this one in particular - Cars Christmas)!

The Joy of Love ~ Day 8 ~ Love from the Heart

Day 8 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "Love from the Heart".  I took this the morning of this assignment.  I had a bit of a head cold that day and my 3 year old asked why I was laying on the couch (which isn't something that normally occurs and didn't actually last that long).  I said I didn't feel so great and I had a head ache.  He told me not to worry and went to the freezer, found this ice pack and brought it to me and said it would make me better.  Such a sweet boy!

The Joy of Love ~ Day 7 ~ Generations

Day 7 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "Generations".  I used what I already have for this one.  The top left is my hand with my Great Grandmother's hand and the bottom right my youngest with his Great Grandmother's (the daughter of the one in my photo) hand.  This made me what to go through all the old pictures and keep going which I will do when I can.

Day 6 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "Who THEY Love".  I just happened to catch this the other day.  I was happy with how it turned out and I thought the black and white worked for this too.  Here is big brother giving little brother a {hug}.

The Joy of Love ~ Day 5 ~ Love to Hate

So I am a bit behind but I am going to keep plugging away...

Day 5 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "what you LOVE to hate".  I really don't actually hate anything about the kiddos but....  it is not my favorite thing for the house to always have toys EVERYWHERE!  So this first one is the couch covered in toys.  The second pic is the blankets and pillows from the couch on the floor with a 3 year old in them.  :)  I do secretly like that the house is covered in toys and in disarray because that means they are having fun!  Maybe "Beautiful Mess" is the right way to explain it?

The Joy of Love ~ Day 4 ~ What they wear

Day 4 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "What they wear". Here are a couple shots of my guys.  When I read about today's subject I immediately thought SOCKS.  My 3 1/2 year old always wears his socks upside down.  It doesn't matter all that much so I don't argue with him as he is so proud that he dressed himself!  So I tried to take a picture today of the socks and he proceeded to pick up a pair that was laying around and put them on his hands too...  this is the result.  As for the little guys socks ~ right now I try my best to get him in "grippy" socks so he doesn't wipe-out on the hardwood and tile floors.  Here is what I got of his socks today too!  :)

 

Phew!!!  I think I am caught up just in time for the new email for tomorrows project!  :)

The Joy of Love ~ Day 3 ~ Then and Now

Day 3 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "Then and Now".  I appreciated the excuse to go through old pictures for this one.  I went the pretty obvious route and did newborn photos and recent ones of my kids.  I thought it was kind of funny too how I found such similar shots of them as teeny tineys.  I don't know how many times I think about going through the old pictures to put something together whether it be to print to frame or do a digital scrapbook type of thing but that stuff always seems to fall to the bottom of "my list".  Well maybe one of these days!  And going through the older shots made me want to do it even more so maybe it will get moved up the list!  Anyway here are some then and nows of my boys.  I think it is obvious which is which due to the hair color (or even lack of hair period)!  But the left side is big brother and the right side is little brother!  Enjoy and thanks for looking!

The Joy of Love ~ Day 2 ~ How they Look

Day 2 of the Joy of Love with Willette is "How they look".  Here are a couple shots of my boys from our snow day we had on Wednesday.  I believe little brother is looking at big brother and big brother is in his jammies with crazy hair as we were enjoying our lazy snow day.  :)  Enjoy!

The Joy of Love ~ Day 1 ~ What they do

I Heart Faces ~ People's Choice ~ January Faces

This week the challenge is a "People's Choice" and you can entry a picture of a face that was taken in January.  Here is one of my littlest guy.  This is one of my favorites that I have taken this month.  He loves playing in the snow just like his big brother.

I Heart Faces ~ Fix It Friday #84

Here is my I Heart Faces Fix It Friday post.  This was fun to do.  I hope you like it.

Here is a recap of my edits:
I opened it up in LR3 and cropped it.
I used the Coffeshop Scorched Honey preset.
I adjusted the fill light, the highlights and the blacks.
I sharpened it and reduced some noise.
I sharpened and brightened the eyes.  (There is a good tutorial on the Coffeshop blog for this)
I removed the drool and bubbles from the chin.  (Although I do love baby drool - I just wanted to see how it would look w/o.)
Then I took it over to PSE 8 and added a texture to the background.  I used the Grungy Overlay from Sassy Designs.
I think that's it!!

I kept playing a little after that too just for more fun.  Here a couple more "afters" cropped with a square and tilted a bit one way and then the other.

I am curious what everyone thinks of the different crops!

I Heart Faces ~ Innocent Wonder

This weeks photo challenge over at I Heart Faces is "Innocent Wonder".  This can be seen in so many different wonderful ways!  This shot immediately popped into my head when I saw the topic.  So I did a little editing and here it is!  This is my baby boy last spring when he was about 7 months old.  Being a fall baby he hadn't spent a whole lot of time outside exploring.  So come spring since he was crawling about he got to explore the outdoors.  I am sure there is a lot more exploring for him to do.  It is so fun to watch the little ones see things for the first time.  It adds a whole new dimension to life.  And it reminds us to take a step back from the craziness and take it all in!

I Heart Faces ~ Smile ~ :)

As I was looking for my entry this week I realized I have a lot of smile photographs but I think I have even more smirk ones!  This was tough cause I have sooooo many that I like and naturally we are always looking for smiles so we tend to catch them often!  Well I finally settled on this one of my little brown eyed boy.  I hope you like it!
